I ran across a1988 P with a large P touching the first 8. Can anyone tell me if this is a common die variety for the P? I have not seen any others like it. Thank you.
I believe the mint was still hand-punching the mintmarks into the dies in '88, so there will be variation in the mintmark position from die to die. If possible, post a photo or scan here so we can have a look...
