I'm sorry.....I stand corrected....the eagles were in one Super Bowl and lost to the Pats.
Shockingly enough, Dimeman, you are wrong again....the Eagles were also in SB XV and lost to the Raiders...

As a life long Cowboy Fan and Football myself. The success of the Cowboys Franchise is exactly why they are so hated by so many non Cowboy fans. From the "Ice Bowl" to "the Hail Mary" , From Landry to Tex Schramm, The Cowboy's franchise is largely responsible for the success and popularity of Modern day Pro Football. Love them or Hate Them, Any Knowledgable football person knows the historical importance the Dallas Cowboys have etched onto the NFL. Any that dispute that are just plain being silly or out right ignorant of the history of Pro Football and the NFL.
In 1966, Schramm met secretly with American Football League founder Lamar Hunt to begin the negotiations that led to the 1970 merger of the NFL and AFL, as well as the first Super Bowl in 1967.
Schramm was also known for his innovations that helped redefine the modern NFL. These include instant replay, using computer technology in scouting, multi-color striping of the 20- and 50-yard lines, 30-second clock between plays, extra-wide sideline borders, wind-direction stripes on the goal post uprights, the referee's microphone, and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. While leading the league's Competition Committee, he oversaw rules changes such as using overtime in the regular season, putting the official time on the scoreboard, moving goalposts from the front of the end zone to the back and protecting quarterbacks through the in-the-grasp rule. Schramm's desire for a more comprehensive scouting combine led to the annual offseason NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
Don Shula said of Schramm, "I truly believe he had as much, or more, to do with the success of professional football as anyone who has ever been connected with the league."
Being one of the most successful franchises in all of sports, If im not mistaken I think they are also the most valuable franchise in all of sports as well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ NFL ALL TIME WINNING RECORDS
Dallas Cowboys Highest Regular season winning % .580 Highest winning % overall .579 Most Post season wins 33 Most Super Bowl Apperances 8 Most Consecutive seasons in Playoffs 9 (1975 - 1983) 8 (1966-1973) (If not for the 74 season The Cowboy streak would be an unheard of 18 straight playoff seasons. 8 seasons being the next closest)
With dominance like this its no small wonder why most non-Cowboy fans have a bad taste in their mouths for the Dallas Cowboys. for most the highlight of their season is a good Cowboy loss.
While I agree the sloppy play, penlties and Metal mistakes cost the Cowboys both games more so than any great play by the Redskins or the Bears. They still had chances to win both games. Top tier NFL teams would have closed them out long before the fourth quarter playing like that.
Even so, you have enough posts to know that this forum is basically a mere inmature name calling forum rather than any kind of intellegent football discussion, so it amazes me that you would continue to comment when it is obvious that the only replies are silly jabs and nonsense meant to get your goat, rather than any kind of serious football discussion of the situation.
Your lack of Super Bowl knowledge also really helped fuel the fire for them. Although in your defense The Eagle Super Bowl Apperances are pretty forgetable. Although I will say that Wilbert Montgomery was a Great back and unfortunately was unable to carry the weight of the Eagles team. Too bad he wasn't a Cowboy.
From Halas's Bears to the Legendary Clevend Browns, From Lombardi's Packers to the Emergence of Namath and the Jets to the mighty Kansas City Cheifs teams that brang the AFL into the light. from the Steeler to 49er Dynasties to the Great Raider teams of the past. From the Giant Chamionships to Johnny U's Colts to the "Over the Hill Gang" Redskins. ALL the historical rivialries and legendary players are what have made the NFL the most poular pro sport in the World. None more so than The Dallas Cowboys and their rich history.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts
I personally do not hate the Cowboys. I am a lifelong Saints fan and that has been my loyalty through good times and bad. What annoys me about the Cowboys, however, is that I have to listen to how great the Cowboys are all the time. This is from Cowboys fans. Now, if I lived in Dallas I could understand this. But I now live in North Carolina, which is nowhere near Dallas. And yet I hear all of these Dallas fans talk about "we" as if they were the Cowboys. And I will ask them how many Cowboys games have they personally attended. And the answer is inevitably "none". But when the Cowboys do something special, they talk such a big game. So I find myself pulling against the Cowboys more often than not, not because I dislike the Cowboys, but because I dislike their nation of fans that don't actually come from the area and have no other attachment to Dallas other than claiming that their team is the best. How many Cowboys fans are also Lakers/Celtics fans? Or Yankees fans? Probably a lot. Really tough to pull for a frontrunner...
I didn't know captain America was such a blowhard...

No, what BigRedJohn is trying to explain is that ... as we watch Tony Romo and company stumble around and embarrass themselves this weekend, we should all feel somewhat privileged to be witnessing the slow, painful death of a once proud Cowboys franchise. You know, the last flicker of light from an exploding star. The final squirm from a freshly squished bug.
We should probably also have a moment of silence in remembrance of all that could have been ... and then thank them, for building us a nice new stadium to have OUR Superbowl in this year .. without them.
Don't worry, we won't mess up your stadium too bad. Maybe just a few Redskins arrows sticking out of your new hanging video board.

We'll see about that Mike, You Injuns made a suprise attack and were circling the wagon drunk on Cowboy Juice and Scalps and forgot in order to escape the state of Texas ya had to go through Houston and lost some of your mojo. I will summon the Spirt of the Great field General Captain Comeback to defend the Cowboy Homeland from you Redskins. If that don't work maybe Commander Jones can bribe them with some cheap watered down Whiskey and Broken Rifles.

They are not even as good as I thought they were.......which is not very good at all.

<< <i>Sorry Steve but I'll take my Cowboys over your eagles anyday. We have won 5 Super Bowls to your 1.
