I found these silver coins being minted and see the limited mintage numbers. The republic of Texas proudly announces the production and availability of its first silver medallion to all Texians and others who are interested in God-given freedom within a constitutional republic of, by, and for the people.
The front side of this silver medallion features the Texas Lone Star, Texas Independence, and the outline of the original Nation won at the battle of San Jacinto in 1836, and made permanent by international treaty signed by President Santa Anna of Mexico. The back side of the medallion features an image of the Alamo commemorating the site and those brave Texians who lost their lives trying to protect their families and homesteads and recognizes the fact that We are One Nation, a republic, Under One God , the Creator, Provider, Deliverer and Protector and without Him we would have nothing.
This Alamo medallion is "proof grade" with a deep mirror finish and fine detailed artwork designed by our own postmaster general, Mike O'Grady. It is made of 99.9% fine silver, weighing one troy ounce. Those who want to preserve the beauty and significance of this original medallion can have it encased in an airtight clear case. These silver medallions will also enhance barter exchange between Texians because it retains a high intrinsic value, unlike paper currencies around the world.
Controversial silver coin

Perhaps ... but their order processing is transacted on a "non secured" server.
