It's fun how your own habit makes you think in different ways.
You read Gold Bars while I read Silver Bars!
I think they are so expensive because they Pamp is a top tier name and also they sell directly these bars with an high price.
If you try to buy them directly from Pamp you are going to pay $45/oz, give or take.
Anyway, there were few australian sellers on eBay that were "spoiling" the market. They sell 1oz bars for less than $40...at least they did before the silver jumped over $20. I didn't check recently.

You forgot...add $15 for bullion processing & shipping for each bar, if u buy direct from pamp. All but one of the Aussy sellers have finally eliminated their stash, I sure would like to know where they got it from.

<< <i>??? was the 10 oz Ag pamp ever found? >>
I BELIEVE, it was determined none have ever been produced.
<< <i>Are the 20g silver Fortuna's as hard to get as the 1oz?
>>
More difficult than the 1 oz, not being produced anymore. Same is true with the 1/2 oz & smaller sizes. Another difficult one is the 100 gram bar, simply because people don't recognize the PAMP trademark on the back...(you most likely would find them as older yearly calendar bars) Of course the equivalent of a 1964 Peace Dollar is the 10 oz silver bar....
<< <i>yes I saw them but the aussie part made me leery >>
Whats wrong the Aussies, probably the most generous and original breed of person in the world, and we have pamp suisse silver bars in those nice little credit card holders for $33usd each

Good luck in getting this one for less than 5 x melt.

Nice looking bar but at that price I wouldn't have any interest.

You keep forgetting .. some of the PAMP bars are not sold for the bullion value, but as collectible items... That's why they are called Art Bars & not Bullion Bars. Personally I would prefer a rare and artistically well designed Art Bar over most common date classic coins demanding hundred times face or bullion value. It's not uncommon for the rarer 1 oz ones to be pricey for bars, in the $150+ range. Again, supply & demand comes into the picture & they are not subject to swings in bullion value as their cousins, the bullion bars are.
