Coinditz: The style of the features (lettering, numerals, star, etc.) is close to, but does not quite match the 1818 New Spain (Texas) Jolas that I have seen. However, there is some variation between the known examples of these coins.
While your coin may turn out to be genuine, I have some concerns about it. My initial impression is that it is a reproduction.
Can you provide the exact weight and diameter of your coin?
My coin is 16.5 mm - 17. mm and weighs 1.88-1.89gr. on my digital scale. Since there seems to be no known fakes or counterfeits, and more than a few different die varieties, how is it even possible to authenticate it? I'm sure it will have some value to somebody? I wouldn't even know how to sell this coin. Thanks for all comments, positive or negative.
