Click on profile (upper right of this page).

Down the very bottom of the next screen where your info is is a sig line box, max 255 characters.

Put whatever you want in there. It is HTML compatible so you can put links and pis in there too. The pics should be kept small, usually thumnail size is good.

Then make sure you click on upadate profile or you've just wasted 3 minutes of your life.

If won't show up in any of your postings until they are posted. In other words as I type this now mine is not there, but when I post it will be there for all to see.

At least you'll be able to fix your avatar soon, the 15th is fast approaching.

thanks for the help but that wasn't the question. take a look at how mine is now. see all the space between the -------------- and the "current projects: Vintage Red Sox and Red Sox autos and GU "

I can either get it to be like that or have the same amount of space at the bottom. Weird cause mine is the only one I see that way

  • I have a stupid question/comment... Are you pasting your sigline into the message box? Maybe the spaces are added with the your paste. If that makes any sense at all.

I actually thought of that last night when it was bugging me and completely deleted my sig and started over so i knew there were no spaces in there already. I did re-copy and paste the original sig back in there making sure I only grabbed the first through the last letter of it.
I think it got worse at that point so I had another beer

I think I just fixed it by putting the curser after the last letter and holding the delete key down for a while. Must have still been some spaces in there
  • zep33zep33 Posts: 6,897 ✭✭✭
    ok, maybe not

look at my 2 posts above this one. 1 is good and the other isn't

    WTF am I doing wrong?
  • zep33zep33 Posts: 6,897 ✭✭✭
all 3 above this post have different amounts of space under the sig.

    now I'm baffled
  • zep33zep33 Posts: 6,897 ✭✭✭
ok make that 4. All right who's messing with me - Carol?
  • That is some wild and weird stuff right there. Perhaps one needs to be smarter than the spaces??? image

    heh heh heh
  • Seriously though, now that you're sure that there are no extra spaces in the sigline, the spaces you see under it will be determined by the amount of lines you post.

It's because your sig is only one line deep so you see extra spaces.

    so
    if
    i
    type
    like
    this
    from
    now
    on
    maybe
    it
    will
    stay
    on
    the
    bottom

think I finally really figured it out.

Each message box will be a certain minimum size. If the box is not filled by actual text, empty space is used to fill the minimum space.

Therefore, larger messages will take up that space, leaving the sig on the bottom where it belongs

Now I'll PM myself for my address to send myself a cookie

I used 2 sandbags to weigh it down, not sure what your problem was Zeb.
