ROFL: received my first neutral out of 4,158 (crooked writing)

Fixed link crooked writing?

Buyer's comment; "Nice stein but some of the writing on it was crooked"

Where is the crooked writing??? Why wait a month to ding my stars and and leave a neutral ? No contact from buyer nothing just drill me.

well my cherry is now cracked : after 4,158 positives, 0 negatives & 0 neutrals , I get this LOL . The thing that really ticks me though is dinging my stars and putting my 20% discount at risk. I was even nice enough to upgrade the shipping to priority which was only like 40 cents more, but I was feeling nice that day. Oh well welcome to my BBL list.

Link no good, like your stein it appears.

    lol

    Just kidding.

    Good for you.
  • e-bays getting nuts. I just sold a bunch of Mcfarlane and marvel legends figures and people were complaining about the strangest things, and the ones would had paid wanted to cancel their buy 5 minutes after the auction was over. I had no choice to say yes in fear of that dreaded negative or neutral.

Looks great to me, i surprised the guy didn't complain that the stein was round

Well the good news is you do enough volume that your 20% off isn't at risk. First thing I checked was to see if this turd was also a seller. People like that are why I have a fallback account on eBay. Since you can't do anything legitly via eBay to get stupid shiat like this overturned, sometimes you have to just win an auction of theres and neg them back. image

The latest trend I am noticing on eBay is non-paying bidders on about 1 out of 10 auctions I put up now. Getting way out of hand.

Curious if this buyer was also in the Southwest Ohio area like it looks like you and I are? Would love to just knock on this person's door and ask them WTF?
  • after 8 years on ebay, and never having non paying bidders, i get at least one a month now.

Almost hard to believe. Seems as though there is now ten times the number of vermin buyers on ebay than there used to be.

Every time I think the buyers on eBay couldn't get worse, they do. I'm glad I'm almost done with selling there.
    Who is Rober Maris?

After further review, I am now more ticked off then before. I charged 6.00 for S/H when in reality it cost $8.89 just for postage not counting the 1.04 for the box to ship it in so total S/H was 9.93. The buyer lives in Southern California (so can't knock on his door).

as far as non-paying bidders, I also have had more than normal lately (about 3 a month) since March.

The bad news is: I am at risk for losing my 20% discount, because on my shipping time even though I have a 4.96 rating I also have five ratings of 1 or 2 stars which puts me at 0.55% (and ebay only allows 0.50%) or in other words 5 buyers out of 904 that rated me/postal service (over the last 12 months) left 1's or 2's. I ship all items within 24 to 48 hours after receiving payment (99% are usually within 6 to 24 hrs). So thanks to something which is out of my control the postal service and the buyer that wants it yesterday. I get screwed.

so in ending I hope my typing isn't crooked. LOL

Here is a positive feedback that I received back in July: where I scratched my head and thought "what the ***).

item sold: Two (2) Pokemon Basic Booster Packs Factory Sealed (foil packs)

feedback received: "Cards are great the actual packs looked fake though so be careful about that"

Where do these buyers come from .

I remember when a friend of mine quit selling on ebay after he sold to PSA/DNA autographed cards (Topps certified autograph issue).

Feedback he received: 2 negatives comment was " Cards look great, but the autographs look Fake to me" image

it's crown royale & meds time for me. image
  • Since the major changes on ebay a couple of years ago, its very difficult for sellers to have perfect feedback. Ebay does almost nothing now to help sellers.

Exactly the reason why I would have held out on the feedback...

many people on these boards proclaim to leave it "right away"

not me, now he is building his positive reputation and leaving you a neutral...

    sorry to hear this...

I never leave feedback first either. Why should I give some loser a positive for paying if he intends on ruining mine?

Pretty clear to see that the top World Champions 1976 is sloped downward from start to end

If someone was so concerned with perfect print on the stein, they could have easily noticed that. Even asked you a question

Dont play the ebay feedback game. The discount you receive for having good feedback/DSR ratings is paid for by the BS you have to put up with. Ebay was better when they would go after the crooks, no discounts for feedback, feedback for everyone. Its now become a place that you need to have a button to hide YOUR feedback to avoid getting ulcers. Plus feedback/power seller means nothing. Its obvious that some low feeback sellers are crooks, but the problem is, most of the major crooks have good feedback
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

That's not at all clear to me from the picture. Could be sloped downward, could be just the angle of the photo, etc. I don't blame the guy for being unhappy with the stein but it's not cool to leave a neutral without contacting the seller.

I think the angle of my pic of the stein makes the slope look larger than what it is. I owned the stein for 20+ years and never even noticed a slope. I guess add that to another one of my faults (bad hearing, bad eyesight, bad typing, bad attitude, bad habits ect ect).

the one thing I think that is really broke not just on ebay but a lot of places is communication, if the buyer had just contacted me and said hey I don't like this, I would have told him to return it for a refund ,would not have been happy about it but would have refunded his money and went on.

anything I buy or sell, if there is a problem why not try to work it out before leaving bad feedback or opening a paypal or ebay complaint. I think we can all agree communication is the key with any transaction /relationship.
when buying something if I have a question I ask before I bid and if the pic is not up to snuff ask for a better scan/pic.

thinking about buying this card think i should ask for a better pic/scan or just buy it and worry about it later??? buy it now and worry later
  • well he does have a 100% feedback rating....hummm seems he has none a a seller though, worth taking a chance. And to think if i could afford a $100000 card you would think i would have a pretty good camera...
