$3 dollar gold

Have the opportunity to purchase a $3 gold piece for $750.

It's a commen date, 90% gold, 10% copper at 5.02 grams. Would grade around 50.

Good deal?

Depends on if it's real or not. These have been very heavily counterfeited. Do you have some really good pics?

Paid more for mine when gold was cheaper, I think it's a 50 too. Mobettah in a slab.

Maybe ask in the coin forum to get more replies?
  • Problem-free, that is a great price if it's really AU. It's a good price for EF piece.

Remember these were 5.015g nominal at strike. A 5.2g piece today would have me verifying authenticity before buying.

I don't trust any numismatic coin unless its in a slab. The potential to lose lots of money is too great if its ungraded. However even graded coins in my eyes are risky because of the Chinese and their frigging counterfeiting..............

It's best to buy it in a TPG holder, never buy it raw. Too many counterfeits out there...
