I've never seen that either, and I really can't say I'm a fan of the idea.
I like my coins and books separated, not conjoined!

I like two versions of coins (or medals) in books:
FIRST FINE SILVER COINAGE OF THE REPUBLIC OF SAN SERRIFFE: THE BIRD & BULL PRESS COMMEMORATIVE 100 CORONAS.
and
Trade Tokens of British and American Booksellers & Bookmakers. in slipcasew/tokens ltd ed
