Let's see the best item in your collection.
I saw a similar thread on the Network 54 boards, so I thought I would start one here. Let's see the best item in your collection.
Mine is a tie between 2 items. One is a card. The other is my avatar (2006 Pujols Signed Game Used Batting Gloves).
The 2001 Topps Pujols signed card below may not seem like all that much, but since I collect signed Topps Cardinals, this is the toughest one. I only know of one other. I do know that there are not very many at all.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Am I going to be blown away? Is it a crazy Mantle card or something?

<< <i>It's a tough call for me, but I would have to think it is this set up of lineup cards from the Orioles/Blue Jays game of 05/30/82. The significance of this particular game was these were the lineup cards that sat in the homeplate umpires pocket for the FIRST game of Cal Ripken Jr.'s legendary consecutive game streak:
That.
Is.
AWESOME!
Thanks for sharing!!
This is away getting framed up with the Harvey Kuenn cut that was beautifully put together by Doran.

I would have to say this is the 'best' item in my collection.... Also one of my favorites!
Shown before, but my baseball signed at the 1955 HOF induction by five new inductees and several others. Obtained directly from the Red Sox scout who obtained it in person that day...
1998 NBA Finals Floor signed by Michael Jordan
Baseball signed by 1965 World Champion Dodgers (Koufax, Alston, Drysdale, etc)
Joe Dimaggio signed baseball inscribed "Yankee Clipper"
My Clemente RC
This is the first game my dad every took me to and I still have the program from that day. (Aug 15th 1971, I was only 1) The Pirates lost 6-4 to the Cardinals. Clemente went 1-3 and Stargell hit 2 homers. I do not remember the game. Go figure!
Edit Pic
This isn't my most valuable but it is the most historically significant item in my collection. It's a 1933 Kansas City Blues stock certificate signed by the secretary of the team, Tris Speaker (who was also the coach for a month or two in '33). The best part is that it is made out to TJ Pendergast, who pretty much ran Kansas City around that time. I don't know a lot about the guy but everything I've read makes him seem like one of the sleeziest, most corrupt people out there. He was also largely involved in Truman's rise to the presidency.
My small collection

Can't tell from the photo but my hand was still shaking 15 minutes later.

A 1909 World Series panoramic Photo
A 1888 newspaper with an article on Dan Brothers and Cap Anson.

Cardboard wise.. here are some of my favorites..maybe not best in terms of dollars...but best in my admiration of them.

It was the first and last WS won by the Dodgers in Brooklyn - so the WS Press Pins for the '55 Dodgers and Yankees are an all-time favorite of mine:
Another is a signed ball by George Brett - PSA/DNA - game used ball from his 3000th hit game - also authenticated by the head ump.
Some of my better! Still looking to possibly part with these to consolidate my collection. Awesome collection guys!

photo from my Grandfather several years ago and thought it was pretty cool to have. But now that I'm older I really appreciate it because it's a team picture that includes my Great Grandfather
(manager in the middle), Great Uncle Glenn (front row left),and Great Aunt Naomi (holding crossed bats). A team picture of the 1914 Springfield South Dakota team that scored two runs in the
bottom of the 7th to beat Ravinia. We got the picture enlarged and it's the biggest conversion piece in our house when we have visitors. The story is always better when you can say you are
actually related to some of the people in the picture. With the car ad on top it just makes a classic photo that much more interesting. No matter what card I have or will have, this is my "best"
baseball collectible. Take Care. Doug
<< <i>I think that is a great question. I bet for most of us our "best" item is not the possesion we own that is worth the most money, but what in fact means the most to us personally. I was given this

Which magazine was it posted in? Still not clear which one your grandfather is - is it the guy standing next to Mick in the white shirt or the guy that is two away from Mick in the black shirt?

Game ball trophy from IU's first win over Stagg's Chicago Maroons.
IU football team picture from 1910 (note ball in photo). Side note on this team... this IU team did not allow a touchdown the whole year! They lost the Big Ten championship to Illinois when the Illini beat them 3-0 during the season.
This a Indiana letterman pull over letter sweater from football player HB Bill Holzbach. He lettered at IU from 1951-1954 and is in the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame as a coach. He coached Gary (Indiana) Roosevelt High School to the state basketball championship in 1970 and finished 28-0. The Roosevelt team was lead by ABA and NBA player Jim Bradley.
Indiana great Randy Whitman's warmup jacket (replica jersey underneath)
1945 Big Ten football Championship letterman jacket patch and "I" from Bob Harbison. Harbision went to Florida State after graduation and was on the football staff for 37 years for seven head coaches. He retired after the 1985 season.
