thanks Pat, that makes for sort of a weird policy as i see it

so, if i have an 18th cent U.S. dollar with a small hole i will have to plug that hole (with a modern plug, no less) before they will holder it????

also, how does this apply for issues that are sometimes found holed for suspension (but not always)??

<granted in the second example, we would be talking about tokens and medalettes>

I like NGC's policy on this: If it was meant to have a hole they will not net grade it but rather place it in a regular holder. I've seen exonumia slabbed like that and thought that was a smart move on NGC's part.

I can't think of a coin I've seen where PCGS did the same thing.
    Anyone?

I've also seen plenty slabbed by NGC, but then these are exonumia areas that PCGS doesn't grade.

These are the kinds of threads PCGS should try to answer with a reply IMHO.

If PCGS would slab exonumia, I have a 30 coin submission ready to go. But since I'll be using NGC, I'll likely have 5 or 6 U.S. for them to do too.

Another Holed Genuine. Can you tell when they were slabbed by the numbers?

sinin1: I wish PCGS would provide a technical grade to all slabbed coins. Neat pattern. Were they contemplating a change from the Indian after 25 years or?
