Hey Chicago guys, need opinions! - updated

My wife and I are heading to Chicago to attend my son's graduation from Navy boot camp. Got any thoughts on fun things to do there? We'll have just the weekend.
He wants to eat - deep dish pizza, and at The Shanty and at Wildberry pancake restaurant. Anyone been to either place?
Thanks!
Mark
UPDATE
OK, Chicago is a sneaky city. They label I-94 as east/west even though it runs directly north/south. I know that was to get out of towners like me to go the wrong direction and pay a couple extra tolls when they get off and turn around! And I didn't know til I read the signs that Wisconsin is actually west of Illinois.
Also found it interesting that the speed limit is 55 on many highways but if you drive 65-70 you will be passed by 90 percent of the drivers on the road.
BTW had an awesome deep dish pizza at Malnoti's.

As for the Shanty I haven't been their in over a decade,( way before it got famous) though I regularly drive past it. Since being featured on that show, business has boomed, making them expand the place and parking.

<< <i>Lou's is the place to go for deep dish( sausage deep dish yum!) >>
I agree. My favorite for deep dish is Lou Malnoti's and for thin crust is a tie between Ledo's in LaGrange and Vito & Nick's in Chicago.

Vito and Nick's aint tied with ANYONE for the best thin crust in Chicago. In fact, its amazing that they dont deliver....they could probably make 3 times as much if they did!
The place is at about 85th and Pulaski by the way...and if you want thin crust, its worth the long drive.
BBCE is also worth the drive, but call ahead to make sure someone will be there. Its basically just a small warehouse with so much unopened material your head will spin.
Finally, I would recommend a trip to Navy Pier and then a quick hop over to Shaw's crabhouse on Hubbard street for dinner. If you like seafood, its THE place to eat! Figure on about $60/ person with appetizers, entree and tip though...its not cheap.

That's about what......2 gold coins per person?

It is marked east–west in IL in accordance with its general alignment across the country. I-94 begins in E-MI and runs to MT so outside of the L jog around Lake Michigan through Chicago and up to Milwaukee, it runs west the entire duration. Hence I-94 runs "East/West".

And to take it one step further, all U.S. interstates that run north/south are odd numbers.....east/west are even numbered.
