Sounds like you have the Madison Mint Presidential Cameo bars with Type A reverse. The book doesnt say the year they were minted but my guess would be 1985. No mintage noted either

Can I ask what may be a stupid question. Why do people melt bars into other bars? They want to make one big bar or mint it with their own marks? I thought the whole buy bars with markings was to ensure that you could trace who made the bar and its value that way?
