do you mean like kennedies and franklins? Those can be bought for close to melt which is around 6 bucks or so. Now I suppose if they are bu then you would be paying extra but even then you can find bu kennedies and franklins for melt or slightly above melt. Before I moved, my local store would toss nice kens and franks in the tupperware and I would pick out all the nice shiny ones

Walkers should still be close to melt. If you are looking to pay $13, then that is way too much. I would sell you all the walkers I had for $13 each. At current spot, the melt value for halves is about $6.59 each. That price is a good starting point. Walkers may have a little bit of a premium on them due to their age, but they are usually a little more worn and have less silver content. If I was you, I wouldn't even think about it above $7.50, and personally, I wouldn't purchase them even at $7.50.

Agree. Common circulated dates are worth close to melt while better date and high grade coins are worth more than melt---sometimes considerably more than melt. I'm surprised that someone with 47000 posts wouldn't already know this.

Ease up everyone! You don't have to be on the "coin" boards to accumulate posts numbers. The majority of my 1100 posts are with the baseball card forums. I'm sure I've asked some pretty novice questions on the coin boards even with my 1100 post count.
