Updated with BluVette Photos: Some of my CBH's..... what do you all think? More Added

Well, I was finally able to get my coins imaged by Todd at the FUN show. If you scroll down to look at my attempts they really do look sad. Thats why I paid the big bucks, I think I will be printing out some to be able to look at instead of going to the SDB to get them.

Scroll to the bottom to see the new images.

I have asked many questions about my coins and never really showed any pics. Well here is my attempt. Photoscape made the editing part easy, but I have a long way to go with my crappy 10 year old sony mavica (need to upgrade), so here they are.

Pardon some of the blur and the inability of my skills in showing the luster. These are the best pics of about 30 coins I tried to shoot.

I will have to say that I would rather pay a professional to do these pics, but until that can happen these will have to do. Dont be to hard on my skills, because I dont have many.

Overall, not bad. A couple look lightly cleaned and retoned, but I've seen much worse in holders. Any DSLR is worth the investment.

The 1819 stands out to me as overgraded. Too much wear for AU imho. I would give it a vf45 at best. the balance of the coins and their assigned grades seem about right.

of course, without them in hand I am only basing my opinion on your pics.

A lot of what you perceive as wear is actually a weak strike.Definately appears to be AU.You should check the reverse of the 1820 for active PVC.I see some green spots that may need to be taken care of before they get worse.Looks like some nice coins.

    Like the 1820 a lot.

Personally I am not fond of the 08 though ( I am probably in the minority however)

Rest look good the 28 being my second favorite

    Nice, Gary!

Send me that 1808 and I'll do some nice images for you free...or maybe you'll never hear from me again.

Nice bust halves Gary and your pics aren't too bad either.

Personally, I like the look of the 1828 the best.

    Congrats on some nice busties!

What are your plans? Will you be going after a date set?

Thanks, I dont really have a plan as of yet, I am just buying whatever ones I like. So some years I have a 45, 50, 55 but as long as I like the look.

I do have a few that dont fit my look and I am trying to move them, but other than that buy all I can.

    Hey Gary,
With very little effort you can turn these photobucket images into a pretty slideshow. Here's an example using my CBH's.

You might want to size them the same for a better presentation.

    Lance,

That is pretty cool. I am in the process of taking pics of some of my other CBH's and will try and do that slide show.

I am hoping since the winter fun will be in Tampa, that I can hire one of the pro's on the board to take some better pics for me. Then you guys can really see them pop.

I will add more as I finish editing.

Another great set of CBH's you added there Gary.

I happen to really like the 1823 and 1826 among the newest busties you added.....and it looks like the 1824 has a SOLID strike. If it had more luster it could easily be an AU.

Congrats on some really fine CBH's.

Be careful or you could really get hooked on these.....you may even get the FEVER image

  • Thanks guys,

Not bad for a 6 month span, I remember everyone saying on the first one, it will quickly become an addiction. That was an under statement for sure, it has become an obession.

You have the start of a very nice Bustie collection. I would take your 1808 any day, would have guesses P53. Maybe you should consider crossing those NGC Busties over to PCGS.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.
  • BluVette images added. It is amazing what the right set-up can do for taking pics.

Todd, Thank you more will be on the way.

Gary, a very nice collection of CBH's with outstanding color. Todd's pictures make a big difference when you have toned coins.
