Knocked on a door today and the owner was happy to let me detect his land.
Started with a 1952 Roosie. When I showed the owner he began rubbing the dirt off to see the date. I cringed, but then figured it was only a roosie, and his house, haha. I offered it to him but he told me to keep it.
Then picked up a cool 1929 "Y Champs" Sterling Silver ball pendant. Trying to figure out what the ball is - possibly a basketball, but I'm not sure how well it could bounce with stitching? It's about the diameter of a dime.
A bit later found what looks like it could be a gold ring. Still not 100% convinced but it cleaned up easily. Only marking is an "A" inside a circle. Looks a bit older. Only weighs .6 grams, so I'm thinking it is gold. Will keep cleaning and have it tested next week. UPDATE: after some cleaning, some of the gold plating came off. Looked good for a while, oh well!
Last was that swirly thing. Looks like some kind of jewelry but not sure. Doesn't look to be any kind of precious metal though.
Edited to add: Out of the 14 lincoln cents found today, 12 were wheats! Puts my total at exactly 100 for the year.
Was nice to get back detecting. Haven't been out too much lately and then it was mostly beach hunting.
Happy hunting all!

I really like that basketball. Unusual finds like that are great - particularly when they're gold or silver.
Basketballs were indeed like that (with laces on them) in the 20's.
