Picked up a 1937 British Specimen Set in the original case for $172.50 plus sales tax in New York

Do you mean the quality/grade of the coins?
There are 15 coins in the set. The largest is the crown coin.

Some of the coins have pretty blue toning but others have darkish mottled toning on the side that stayed in contact with the black velvet.
