Quarter Error Question?

I have 3 1999 Conn. state quarters that are off center about 20%. These were taken out of a $25 mint Bag. The sides of each quarter is smooth with no reeding. Is this commom on error quarters?

  • I can't be of much help to you about the reeding but they sound like some nice finds. Do you have any pics?

You have thee off center statehood quarters, nice find. If all of the design is there, then they could be broadstruck errors.

Anyway nice find, and yes the do have some extra value.

You need to go back into your profile and turn on your PM function (personal message).

  • I have found a 2006 Mass. quarter that is missing letters in the motto. Anybody have any idea of the value? Someone said it was an error caused by a grease filled die.

These are far enough off to get error collectors interested.

There are relatively few errors coming out now days because of better quality
control and the counting houses are required to return errors they catch.

I believe this particular off-center is relatively common but might be mistaken.

They are most assuredly keepers. Slabbing could pay for itself but I seriously
doubt it. Someone with more market experience will probably be along.
