Do you think that coin has been China? Do you think that it was BORN in China?
Chinese proto type PCGS holder from 1963! I wonder if Chairman Mao authorized it during one his days off from the Cultural Revolution? What a piece of history. And just think grandma saved it for me!
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
The picture in the auction is just that. It is not the coin she is auctioning off. She is auctioning off an 1882 and the date of the pictured coin is 1880. Might just be an error on her part. Also, she states in the auction that the coin has been in a plastic case since 1963. She is not saying the coin is in a PCGS plastic slab.
No where in the listing does it say it is in a PCGS slab. Only that it has been in a plastic case since 1963. Picture is laid over a PCGS slabbed coin to appear it's a PCGS slabbed coin. Very deceiving.

Who in their right mind would send over $1000 to an eBay seller with a feedback of only 8?

"This Morgan Silver dollar O series has been in a plastic case since my grandmother gave it to me in 1963. she was born in 1898 and her grandfather gave it to her when she was born. Must sell."
What a crock!

Actually low feedback sellers are the safest when it comes to buyer protection. Ebay/Paypal won't release the funds to a low feedback seller (less than 100 feedback last time I talked to paypal) until positive feedback, proof of delivery or something like 30 days have passed. One of these three events must occur before seller's funds are available for withdrawal from paypal account.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

1882-O
1880-S
it is too bad when sellers do not have a clue about what they are selling
and that condition matters
