    Nope, it's the same coin. The coin matches the photo certificate as well.

    Since the premium is not huge in this grade for an 1838-O No Stars dime as opposed to an 1837 No Stars dime, this makes for an interesting addition. The coin is certainly okay for the F-VF grade.

    The one thing I can tell about upgrades is that the No Stars dime as a type coin is many times harder to find in AU and low end Mint State than the half dime. When I was completing "phase one" of my type set years ago, I found this type to be real challenge to find in AU. There are not a lot of coins with enough sharpness, and many of the survivors have been cleaned.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
