I could have done that Jeff.....everyone knows to avoid buying supplies at the post office/Staples/Office Max, et al.

I simply never put forth the effort to search for a better deal. I felt $0.44/each from Walmart was reasonable. Now I know better. Live and learn! image

Funny, as soon as I saw .44 each, I wondered if you were buying the ten pack of 000s for $4.44 at Walmart like I used to do. I found someone on ebay with free shipping and got 100 for like $14 or so and even though I rarely use them, it's nice to have them on hand. It's odd how a few years ago you could buy boxes of the 000 at the big name office stores and then it seemed they all dropped them.

Yeah, I used to always buy the box of 25 from Office Max, and was confused when they stopped selling them. Truthfully, 100 envelopes would last me a month, but savings is savings I suppose.

You wanna poll the masses and ask who they would rather have around here; you or I? I didn't think so.
  • I don't like either of you.

With regards to mailers: I bought 300 #000 from Royal Mailers a while back for something like 10 cents each. I always put a piece of packing tape over the flap when I close it so there is no issue with the glue being bad.

With regards to insurance : I usually don't include insurance unless someone asks for it or unless I'm in the mood. Sometimes I just gamble and self insure it even if it's a big item. The recent '67 set I just sold was sent with priority mail large flat rate box w/signature confirmation. The buyer has already left positive feedback so I guess he got it and everything was ok, lol.

Edited to add: try it now, Trent. Very funny stuff.

  • << <i>if the guy is that tight on money that he cant' pay an extra dollare then he shouldn't be buying baseball cards. Its not like he asking for free shipping on canned goods. I hate people who cry poverty when buying things that are not needed like baseball cards. The fact the guy wants to insure a .99 cent card is another issue all together. >>

This is exactly what I was going to say. If money is so tight, you shouldn't be buying baseball cards. Especially if you don't have a dollar.

I usually don't get involved in personality disputes but most here I do agree will side with nam812 especially if he brings Popcorn Girl.

All this over a .99 cent sale with 2.00 shipping.

FWIW I held my moms hand as she passed peacefully while

you all were debating the savings of a few cents for 100 mailers.

and with that, trivial crap like this slides into the perspective it deserves.

really sorry to hear about your mom, Steve - all in all, I'm sure it was better to be with her at the end rather than somewhere else.
