'73 Topps Baseball 5th Series Pack Rip!!

Just got this in the mail from board member grote15 (Tim). After I change clothes, use the bathroom, wash my hands, and look at porn for a bit in no particular order (standard protocol when I get home from work), I will commence rippage. By the way, how do I break this pack case? Does it work just like the regular PSA holders? I just use a pair of pliers and a screwdriver on those.

As intriguing as that sounds, please only post the results of the rip image

breaking the slab wasn't as difficult as I anticipated. I broke the corner with pliers and then the case just pryed right open.

Should I go ahead and call WCON? this could be the biggest story since last year's Tent Revival at the Fairgrounds!!!! imageimage

first 4, the McNally was the gum card. The gum is older than me so I'm not trying it. The Crawford is probably an 8.

Next 4, the Locker will 9 on a good day. Not sure what happened with that spot on the Didier.

Last 2 were #550 Davey Johnson and #626 Bob Barton, neither really scan worthy. 7's at best. No star power in the pack but a fun rip nevertheless.

That is why cards & porn do not mix.

Boccabella hit only 26 home runs in his career, but he did hit two in one inning. Totally worthless fact, sorry.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

Oldest gum I've tried was out of a pack of 81 and it just sorted turned into a nasty liquid sauce. image

Just a guess, but maybe you put it in the card saver after watching porn? image

I bet Mike (Mexpo75) can remember how the Expos PA announcer would say his name every time he came to bat at the old Jarry Park.

Thanks for sharing your rip, Tommy...I was hoping you'd pull a Schmidt RC, but the Crawford, Crosby and Locker cards all look well-centered and very sharp!

I have to say, I've never really been a big fan of the 73 set in general(and honestly haven't seen many of the commons) but I really like the action shots on the Didier and the Locker! Thanks for sharing!! image

the Crosby would probably be the nicest card if it weren't for the mangled upper left corner. It was the card on the back of the pack and took the brunt of the 37 years of abuse, lol.

Why is there no number on the back of Locker's jersey?

<< <i>Why is there no number on the back of Locker's jersey? >>

Because Topps air brushed out the Oakland jersey to and made it look like a cubs jersey

Current obsession, all things Topps 1969 - 1972

I'm gonna draw one on there and call it an error card.

Loosely translated Boccabella means beautiful mouth in Italian.

    Fits in somehow.

    Good for you.
