Another bad trader CarsonPalmer

After spending quite a while searching for 56 specified cards from his wantlist he doesnt respond to PM's . Now after hiding for 3 months he comes back to post his ebay auctions.

It's not just USC gettin' called out by the NCAA, now it is former quarterbacks and their name takers as well........ouch!

I usually don't call out bad traders on these boards (and there are very few bad ones that I have personally dealt with here), but since I had an experience with CarsonPalmer, I'll add my notes.

Last year, he initiated some PMs with me looking for a trade. I went through several monster boxes and found Bengal game-used and regular Bengal cards for him. He said he wanted several of them and asked what I collected. After sending him the names of quite a few of the modern players I collect in baseball and football--he never sent any reply. Luckily I spent less than 2 hours looking through my boxes for him--so that was no big deal. I just had to pull the boxes back out and re-file the cards back into the boxes. Still, it is rude to not send any reply when working on a potential deal--even if the reply is just to say that he didn't have anything I need, so no deal.

I didnt hound him at all--just added him to my ignore list and moved on.

Etiquette of deals/trades/business does not seem like it is taught to many kids these days (and a few adults don't seem to practice basic etiquette skills as well).

I have done hundreds of buys/trades/sells/gifts received/gifts sent transactions on this board. Most persons here are great to deal with--but there are always a few that don't practice the most basic courtesies. They just get added to my ignore list and I never have to worry about wasting any more time with those persons. I think of it as their loss, in that they will not get any of my money by buying stuff they have for sale, or they won't get cards they need/want from me, because I will not contact them (and they can not contact me since they are on ignore list).

I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.

  • lol I pm'ed the guy when I finally was able to get back on the site and told him 1) I'm sorry I haven't been able to get on here and why which I'd rather not talk about on here and 2) I was gone before he made the list..so when I got back I had a bunch of pms from him threating how he's going put the details on here ans to be completely honest the price was much to high (which I also told him) for a bunch of crappy 90s bengals base cards..just because you pulled them from a box doesn't mean you can charge whatever you want and I am obligated to pay. He then precedes to call me all sorts of names...so that's pretty much when I stopped responding!

I must say in my opinion I have him on my bad trader list! I'm sure many of you have had good experiences with him but I've also had good experiences with many of you! It is what it is and I could care less what you think!
