Why, I start a collection for my son.Based upon my long coin career
of overpaying for over graded coins and making every mistake in the
book, how will I use this wonderful experience of my collecting ,to build
a collection for my youngest Bear Cub?
Why collecting the key coins of the Barber Half Dollar Series in VF condition.

Get him interested in something that allows him to take care of his old bear dad.
I completed a full set (minus the micro-O) years ago in ChAU, and sold it too soon. But....it was a BEAR of a set to work on--takes exceptional patience, and forget about the accuracy of pricing guides for eye-appealing coins.

I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.

Hoard the keys.
You just have to start some kind of collection for yourself to feel normal again.
You can't just go cold turkey.

Hope the cub does well with the desserts of your hobby. It is a special thing to be able to give. Even better if it is well spent.
I hope this sale does not lessen your passion for numismatics. The wisdom you've gained and the humor with which it is offered needs to be shared on the forum
That should be ample enough to keep me busy.

Now there's a thought. There is no reference book on So-Called Half Dollars. Maybe Bear and some similar minds on this Forum can do something about that! (I would be a happy purchaser of such a book!)

I would eat up all of the profits.

very difficult to lose more than half a dollar or a dollar on most of them. The
bad thing is they are quite addictive. Specializing is a good thing so you're
already ahead of the game.
Of course you can lose a little more money on so called dollars if you try to.
Good luck.

Just eat the holes. You can have your donuts and eat it too.
