I guess the Chinese die sinker mess up on the top of the coin so they decided to make an off-center example instead. The chances of having a REAL example of an 1856 Flyer with this error are slim and none.
Another piece of Chinese garbage.
PS He didn't get the date right either.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. One Sunday I landed there on my way to Penang, and they were having a big coin show at "Raffles City". I was in heaven! I have a side specialty of Singapore/Straits Settlements/ British North Borneo/Sarawak/Malaysia/Penang coins because of the excellent shops and availability in Singapore and Penang. I imagine they have some pretty strict laws against counterfeiting of their own coinage. They are not shy about imposing the death penalty.
