I object to this comment about Laura. That comment, SeaEagleCoins was clearly intended to be demeaning.
On the other hand, I thought Laura's commentary about PCGS's lawsuit was terrific. It's nice to see that, Laura has the courage to tell the truth about the coin dealer subculture.

I agree here with PLE. I hope that the readers of this thread have been reading Sperber’s Hot Topics columns for years. Since 2007, she has been courageous in her efforts to bring attention to the coin doctoring problem and to save important rare coins from being ruined. Would you wish to find out that some of your coins have gunk, orange gel, blue paste, car wax or other foreign substances?
RHedden << Convicted coin doctors should be hermetically sealed in a gigantic plastic PCGS slab that says "Genuine- Coin Doctor," then displayed at the entrance to the next ANA show.>> This is truly funny.
Although this thread is very entertaining, I hope that most collectors are aware of the importance of this lawsuit and the seriousness of the coin doctoring problem. This lawsuit has ramifications, and will have impact, beyond the fate of these six defendants. For the reasons that I explain in my analysis, this lawsuit will result in many coin doctors stopping, reducing the number of coins that they doctor, or reducing the severity of their doctoring activities. Coin Doctoring, though, will continue to be a serious problem. Collectors and other coin enthusiasts should continue to make noise and work to address this problem. Even more would be accomplished if the PCGS filed additional lawsuits and/or if the NGC filed one. Education, though, is the key. We all need to learn more about it and think of ways to contain the coin doctoring problem.

Here is a more serious thread in which the definition of coin doctoring and other issues covered in my analysis are discussed
Second Weekly column that includes a discussion of how NGC can employ technology, which the NGC already employs, to discourage coin doctoring
