Todd, don't be so harsh!! Of course there's upside. Heads are up and tails are down. That's the downside.
Actually with 1688 graded MS66 at PCGS you'd have to get it pretty cheap to experience any great appreciation over the norm. I mean, if everything goes up so will these dollars.
A better bet, but of course more money, is the 80cc. Overlooked by many but only 601 graded MS66. Save up and spend it on this coin. Undervalued in my humble opinion.

Silver price has virtually nothing to do with the value of CC Morgans in circulated grades, let alone in really high grades like MS66 where there's no connection whatsoever.
Just remember the 82, 83, and 84 CC Morgans are the most common. There will be a bounty of mint state pieces 100 years from now. Nearly 63% or 755k of the original mintage of 83 CC'S were released in the early 70's. There are 5 or 6 thousand in 66 grade PCGS, NGC, ANACS, SEGS combined. 64, 100k plus. Try finding one in PO01, that's the one I want. The spot price would have to reach the moon to have an effect, like Todd eluded to.
