It sold at auction on August 5th & 15th in 1989.

    Sold by Charles Kirtley.

You must want Martin Gengerke's listing of American auction catalogs, downloadable from here. That's how I figured it out. It arranges catalogs by firm, by date (there were only two on Aug 5, 1989), and by known consignors.

    Thank you Aegis3 image

As I was looking at a list of a research library sold by Stack's who had the name misspelled as it's actually Heilbroner.

I used to set up at a lot of shows years ago, and many times right next to Les. He was quite the early copper guy. Colonials, half and large cents.
Heck, I used to kid him that he could give you a Sheldon number from across the room.
If I remember correctly, he died on a plane coming home from a show. Quite a bit of copper knowledge went with him......

Les was well known around Western New York. His accumulation of copper type was legendary at the time of his active collecting/dealing. If you want to obtain personal anecdotes about him, I can point you in the right direction.
