musket ball

wow have not posted here in a long time. weather and work getting in way. dug and old spot and went home with really old trash. sometimes old junk is pretty cool. imagine getting hit with this big ball.

    well it seems people on another forum say it might be grapeshot and dating near the 1770's. we don't find cannon related items around very much. this could be my find of the year.

    The large pieces look like they could be part of a swinging gate hardware, hammered into a post and a bolt would have the gate swing, the other notched piece looks like a latch.

    One looks like an old front tie rod.
