Is this a planchet flaw or corrosion?

I've had this coin for a while. It looks as though all of the details are there, but it's very porous. What would have caused this?
A 1943 copper Lincoln will still only buy a gumball out of the machine, but you can purchase the machine and the store with that same cent.
