Season Tickets

How many of you on here have them or have had them?

Today I purchased my first pair of season tickets ever, and for the Tampa Bay Lightning. I'm up top, about 5 rows from the roof, behind the goal where the Lightning shoot twice but I am beyond excited! I have had ticket packages for them before, but those were only 4 and 10 game packs...nothing substantial. After reviewing all of the pricing and benefits, and with the new ownership and GM in Steve Yzerman as encouragement, I decided to finally take the plunge on a full season package! I honestly can not wait for hockey season to begin!!

Good for you! I had Hurricanes full season tickets for years and never regretted it and I was in the upper deck too. Now, I teach classes at night, so I can't make all the games, so I just buy as needed, but I miss the friendship of the people we sat near every game. And the Lightning are fun to watch!!!

I have a Sunday season ticket package with the Orioles (I live 150 miles from Camden Yards) and have seats five rows off the field near third base...love them!

When I was a kid during the 70's my father had season tickets for UCLA Football. Saw some pretty good players back in the day. Nothing like spending all day at the Coleseum for a UCLA / USC football game. I don't think I'll ever be able to do it again. Maybe one day when my kids are older I'll get some type of a Dodgers game package.

I used to have Hartford Whalers season tickets. image

I probably still would if Ron Francis and Ulf Samuelssen were not traded for two hacks. image Had to be the worst or one of the worst trades in NHL history.

I had club seat season tickets for the Browns since they returned but had to give them up this year....kids getting near college and other priorities. I loved going to the games but if I had to miss, which was happening a lot it was hard to find folks to take the tickets......some games I couldn't even give away. I lost money when I sold the PSL's but was going to have to give them up anyways. Also had ten game packages for the Cavs for about four years but had to give them up when my son started playing high school basketball two years ago....my package was a weekend one with most games on Friday or Saturdays when he was playing.

Yeah I'm interested in seeing how many I miss. The only games I will have to miss for sure are Tuesday nights this fall because I have a class that day from 6-8. Obviously other conflicts will come up but I'm confident I'll make it to roughly 30 games out of the 41 home game schedule. Plus the discount for purchasing season tickets vs buying singles is ridiculous...even with student discounts for the single games. Plus if I can't go I'll either give them to my sister and her husband, sell em for a few bucks to a kid at school or even give them to my girlfriend since she'll be at school in downtown, about a 10 minute walk from the arena. Even if it's not by me, those seats will be filled for nearly every game.

my dad and i have the old Milwaukee season ticket package for Packer games. we have two regular season games and on fake game (err pre-season) a year. use to have 3 regular season games until they stopped playing in Milwaukee and moved all the games up to GB. i also split Bucks tickets for one season i think 4 or 5 ways.

the wife and i also do some CSO (Chicago Symphony) packages when we like what they are playing (its only a 5 concert series so 5 nights out of the year) and sometimes do the Chicago Shakespere Theatre package as well. This ones only 3 plays.

  • Goot way to go. I myself just became a 1/3 of a season ticket holder to the Wild. I am also about 7 rows from the roof, but I couldn't be happier and there really isn't a bad seat in the house. I can't wait till next year, even though I don't know what games I have yet. I split the tickets with 3 different people.

Congrats on your tickets. And sitting up top really isn't that bad. My ticket packs have always been up top but last year for Christmas my dad took me to a game where we sat 4 rows from the glass. It's great to see the hits and quickness of the game, but from an overall viewpoint I'd rather have the seats up top.

And I definitely can not wait until next year...unfortunately for us, this season isn't even over yet!

I've had 4 partial (20 games) season tickets to the Cubs for about 10 years. They are good seats, and I'm glad to have them. Since my kids were born I go to only 3 or 4 games a year and sell the rest. In a couple of years they will be old enough to enjoy them - so I keep them and look forward to using them more in the future. Nothing better than a Friday afternoon Cubs game.

Yeah, Ulf would piss off Bruins fans quite a bit .image

I miss the old Adams Division Bruins - Whalers rivalry. We saw lots of Ray Borque and Cam Neely!
