What is the earliest known set of MS coins containing an example of each denomination produced that

I assume such sets, dating to the 19th century, have been assembled by collectors [current or past]. I know that Skyman is putting together such a set from 1858, 100 years before his birth.

What is the earliest such set of US coins, complete with an example of every denomination made in the given year, that you have heard of or seen?

If you can, post picturesimage

I know it can be done for 1796. Just an unusually high percent of MS coins have survived from that year!
I'm sure since 1793 is such a limited set, that an MS set can be assembled

I don't get the question, since the obvious answer is 1793.

I'm sure that someone could put together a set of the Pine Tree Massachusetts silver coins, 3 pence, 6 pence, large shilling and small shilling in Mint State. They would all be dated 1652, but no one would know exactly when they were minted. I'm not sure if all of the Oak Tree denominations (2, 3 and 6 pence plus the shillling) are known in Mint State. They probably are. I doubt that a set of Willow Tree coins exists in Mint State. Grading one "Mint State" would be a leap of faith IMO because they were all so poorly struck. As for the NE coin, the only three pence that can be located (The other one was stolen from the Yale University collection years ago.) has a big hole in it so I guess that falls short of Mint State. image

    << <i>How about Maundy sets? >>

According to a Coin World article that appeared this spring, the Maundy coins from the 1600s are only priced in EF and lower. I would think that you could start in the 1700s and with a lot of money and persistence get many of the dates.

I'm traveling right now and don't have my catalogs, but I bet the Hain Collection of Massachusetts Silver contained mint state examples of all the Pine Tree coinage.
