It's a very common die crack across the head,
and the three is from a worn die;

The 1955 "Poor Man's Doubled Die" has this
exact same effect on the last digit.

These types of die cracks and anomalies
are very very very easy to find on coins
in the '50's and 60's, and they do occur
in the 1940's also.....
