I got a 2010 Dime yesterday. (Actually, my brother did and gave it to me)

    Philadelphia mint.

I was really surprised to see it, I didn't see a 2009 until last month, and I still have not seen a 2008 nickel in change, let alone 09 or 10.

Just last week, he also got a 1957 nickel in change. It was in better condition than the one I had and now resides in my collection!

He is getting good stuff lately!

I typically always take the penny that I receive in change, but the other day, I thought I was a tough guy and told the cashier to "keep the penny and put it in the cup for the hoi polloi". To my horror, she reached into the drawer and cracked open a brand new roll of Lincolns. I could not determine if they were the excessively rare shield-back coins, but the place was busy, and I did not want to look like an idiot with changing my mind and asking for the penny back, so I just moved on. image

I got my first 2010 Lincoln the other day. The only other ones I've seen were the MF dollars at the bank.

I am only recently starting to see a trickle of 2009 dated coins. Mostly from Canada though.

All these coins are stored in a big vault and when the usmnt decides to start selling them at a premium than they will pull out all these lost rolls. If the story about the new quarters and the mint declaring that there holding onto enough to sell for a year, at a premium or until they run out, and than if its to early there going to just make more. I am now quistioning why i am buying a bag of each at a premium if there going to hang onto all these coins and just sell them on there site............ look after 8 years all of a sudden they find a vault filled with 2001 sacagawea and how about kennedy half dollor 2001. i guess i should just be more patient and expect to see these coins being re issued in 8 or 9 yrs...............oooh look what we found image

Lately I have been seeing quite a few 2007 and 2008 dated state quarters that are mint uncirculated. Yep, they sat around for awhile. Hey the economy stinks and there is a low low demand for new coinage. A lot of older stuff is coming out of the woodwork and getting re-circulated. Not that that is such a bad thing, like the wee 1940 Merc that came my way from the CoinStar reject slot last weekers.
