My Frankie Was Stolen Today....Pls.post a toned coin

Just bought this from a boardmember this past Friday and he promptly mailed this on Saturday and being that we just live one state apart the first class mail was delivered today. I have been anticipating its arrival and when i opened the mailbox in our apt.building all i got was was a bubble mailer neatly opened with no coin. Never happened to me before.Pls.keep a look out just in case you see this raw Frankie around. It really makes me sad that folks would steal stuff in the mail. Now i would never get to see this in hand. I always wanted a Nice 58 but always come up short. imageimage I really feel sad. image Pls. post a toned coin.Thx.

I only had one coin turn up missing, but that was a nice 1924-S Peace dollar. The seller didn't wrap the coin in anything beofre putting it in the bubble mailer and the coin appeared to have wore through the paper flap on the envelope and fell out. I suspect that a lot of coins missing from envelopes have this happen.

I am lucky in that all my purchases come to my business where my wife or daughter
recevies the mail. Knock on wood, I haven't had any problems. The only trouble is
the wife wants to know how much everything costs or rather she used too. lol
Maybe this Franklin will help ya out.

Sorry about your Franklin. It's a shame when you can't trust a government agency to do their job.

I'd certainly have a discussion with the Postmaster.

For what it's worth, I like your taste in toned Frankies.

Nasty break. Had one gold coin go missing.. got the package, nothing inside but the bubble wrap. Seller had several go missing that were shipped on the same day. He made good on the purchase, but went after the postal station. Never did hear if he was successful, but he vowed he would never mention what he was shipping again at the P.O.. Cheers, RickO

I've shipped close to 10,000 bubble envelopes in the past few years and never had this happen...knock on wood. --Jerry
  • I had one I shipped go missing last month...I had delivery confirmation and I could see it was never delivered so I refunding the purchasers money and contacted the PO. They took down the information and told me they would call me back and let me know where the package was......that was 2 weeks ago image

Here's a picture to try to cheer you up buddy...

I too am sorry for your loss -

don't know whom is to blame .......

    I get far too many coins I buy delivered to me with just " Delivery Confirmation " ;

i think the senders are trying to save a buck -

and gambling the coin will get to me safely without insurance or my signature

thats a poor bet in my opinion

ANY coin over 200$ should ALWAYS be insured and have Delivery or Signature Confirmation as well

I only had one coin lost in the mail, but I lost it twice!!

Last year I reordered Numismatic News for three years, and was suppose to receive a free 2009 ASE with the three-year subscription. I got a empty package a few months later, that I figured out was suppose to be my free ASE. So I call NN and explained what happened. They were nice about it, and says that was happening frequently. And that they would mail out another coin. I waited and waited but never even received a package the second time. I didn't bother to call back even. Just frustrating that someone would do that. image

I'm really sorry to hear that. All your anticipation, dashed by some cheap crook.
