Slightly OT - Syracusian goes into business

image

Here's the fun bit. Tell me where I found this place (City, Country) and you will win three farthings: 1953, 1955 and 1956 in decent shape. Detail: it must be the correct city and country, not just the first person with a guess!

Manchester, England? (I know that's a dirty word to some football supporters here. Oh Manchester, so much to answer for...)

Looks like the correct answer was already given by MacCrimmon.

I found a restaurant review with the address:
79a Cashel Street, Central City, Christchurch, NZ

  • Yeah, well.

New Zealand is no bigger than Alabama; no football team and a lot further away.

Besides, there are a lot of really good Mediterranean/Greek restaurants in Wetumpka Alabama.

Quiznos, Zorba's, Lane-Rexall and Jolene Funderburk's Feta Dream Garden come to mind...

My First Greek Taverna, of sorts.

Our extended family used to drive all the way to Dallas (hey, 40 miles was an adventure) to dine at The Torch of Acropolis, and partake in their fine Sunday banquets.......lamb souvlaki always found my plate in abundance. image

The tram line is already a clue, the ugly depot building could be anywhere, but I guess Mac solved the problem by clicking on properties. image Not my kind of business but I can be a good cook for a small number of guests.

    We have a winner.

It rained every day while I was in CC, except the day I took that pic. image
