25 gram Engelhard gold bar -rare? Anyone want me to get it for a fee?

Was at a show yesterday for the first time ever and saw a 25 gram gold engelhard bar for melt. I didn't get it but was wondering if I should have? I was thinking and thinking that perhaps someone on the forum would buy it back if I purchased it but then walked off. Oh well, next time!

How much do they go for? I don't use ebay and all so if I did buy it, I would have had to sell it on the bst.

Thats the whole point Mike....there are no records for something THAT rare. If the show is still there today, and its not too far a drive, you should be on your way back with cash in hand.

really now? I thought I always tried to keep up with engelhard stuff even though I am not collecting. I had thought it was agblox that mentioned a 25 gram engelhard gold bar or someone on the boards. There has never been an auction to give us an idea of price?

The only thing is, money is tight and I don't want to buy something and get stuck with it. If someone on the board really wants it, I'll go and buy it for them for a small fee. I just don't want to get stuck with something I no longer collect.

If this relatively "common" bar can sell for 36% over melt, just imagine how well a truly rare Engelhard will do!

    Engelhard 1/2oz recent sale.

yeah I just quickly went on ebay to check and saw that.

hmmmm.......I know noone on the boards would pay that money though, if I did buy it, I would need to flip it on ebay which I no longer use.

Tough call. The bar had some scratches but maybe I should take a chance.

Were you banned from ebay Mike? I dont understand why you wouldnt at least use ebay in a minor way such as this to flip items you know for sure that you will win with?

If anyone on the boards wants it for a small fee, let me know and I will try and get it. I'm not gonna bother with ebaying it, etc. No time to do that.

I cancelled paypal because I was getting really out of hand with buying. This was during the time Agblox was collecting and I was collecting silver bars heavily like he was. Thats why I no longer collect because my tendency is go beserk and get everything lol. Ebay is a temptation and I try to stay away from it. If you want it, let me know..............

I'll take the bar for your "small" fee. The only caveat is that you send the bar to me before I make a payment. You DID back out on a firm deal we had in place in the past, so im a little cautious about sending you funds first. If this is ok with you, PM me to set up the rest of the details.image

Not a problem, but it is something that is still fresh in my head if I consider making another "deal" with you. Im sure you understand. Trust me when I say im good for the cash though. You can ask any of the numerous members here who I have done large transactions with in the past and even recently. Let me know if you want to hammer out a deal.

I do not recall ever seeing that one.
The 3500 ounce gold bar type collection we just brokered did not have one.

I have never seen one, and I have actively collected/admired rare gold bars for more than a decade!

well I called up the dealer because I was able to get a card from them.............its gone. It looks exactly like the Engelhard Industries gold bar but it says 25 grams instead on it.

Win some, lose some. At least now you'll know to buy it in 30 years when you see another one. image
