My Wreath Cent photographed, take a look...

Got these just about an hour ago.

The white stuff on the reverse at 3:30 is a friction mark from the beaded border rubbing on the inside of the slab. I verified this by knocking the slab on edge, causing the coin to rotate slightly. The marks stay with the slab, not the coin. PCGS has promised to reholder it for free if this is the case, which it is

Edited to add: I'm seriously considering having this and all of my big copper Secure Plus holdered. These coins are prime candidates for cracking out, and having the laser fingerprint guarantees that they will reholder at the same level.

High angle lighting is great for uncirculated pieces, but I think circulated coins look best with shallow angle lighting from the side. I does a much better job of capturing the color.
Still, great copper!
<< <i>From the previous post, it looks like a beautiful coin- but I am not a fan of this style of imaging for circulated coins.

Thanks! I'll try that and see what I come up with.
Oh, it's a VF-35.

I really like that one! Good for you!

I agree. And this one has a great look.
Very nice coin!

I really like the coin! That's awesome for what it is!
That said, I think you should be aware your premise for the lasering is incorrect. The laser fingerprinting is done to detect potential doctoring and does NOT guarantee grade.
They can't. If it gets cracked out by someone, who is to say that something wasn't done to the coin before PC gets it again?
So, I'm not saying don't send it in for plus, but understand that doing so would likely keep it at whatever grade it gets (or lower, if cracked out an an issue happens). There are never guarantees for an actual grade.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I am baffled by the statement above. Why would you care?
That coin is so cool!
RYK->I am baffled by the statement above. Why would you care?
did you happen to see the memo about this (or the you-tube announcement?)
In this case, it prevents renomedphys from selling the coin
and buying it back in another PCGS holder with a different PCGS grade

You Tube? Huh?
I just like the idea that my large cents can be laser scanned, especially this Wreath Cent. And it definitely bears need for further clarification, but the public statement by PCGS regarding the Secure Plus process, and how the scanned coins can be cracked out by their owners for their own enjoyment / viewing pleasure, and later when sold reholdered at the same level is very enticing. I do not believe I am alone in feeling that Big Copper is best experienced RAW.
Edited to add: Bochiman, I just read your post (bottom of last page) and you may be correct about the non-guarantee of same grade re-holdering, but it is my understanding of the laser process that changes in the coin's surface can/will be detected by subsequent scans. Shouldn't the scan by the same premise verify that nothing has changed, and give a green light to PCGS for same-level reholdering? I have read the entire thread regarding the BIG ONE, and all the FAQs, but maybe I'm still confused. Please enlighten.
