A little progress on the Raw Merc Set.

Replaced the 17P, 19P and 25P in the early portion of the set with better looking coins that have been picked up. A little bit better photos this time. Hope they are not to large.

Enjoy.

In the middle portion the 31S, 34D, 37P and 38D have been replaced. Still need a decent 27S that is up to par with the rest of the coins.

The late section received a couple that have some nice tone 44D and 45D. For some reason this section came out blurry.

Wonderful raw Mercs! What's your average grade goal? Are late date sliders OK or after 1936 is it all MS-63 or better?

I started this as a AU set but now it has evolved into a best coin for the money set. Many mint state coins are here and there through the set starting with the 16P. Everything from 34 on, except a couple are mint state. Still working on a couple in that section.

Great set! I love the Mercury dimes. I just got a 1917 here within the last month, my oldest Mercury dime. (Came from a member here). This is the only classic series where I have more than one mint state example (I have three) as most of my collection is circulated.

It is so impressive to see so many of those tough pre-1930 dates in such a high state of preservation.
    Beautiful coins!

Gorgeous set. Ever worry that if you start upgrading that you will prolong filling the holes?
There is no "AT" or "NT". We only have "market acceptable" or "not market acceptable.

My intentions is not to upgrade but sometimes things just come your way that you do not expect. I actually buy raw mercs just for the heck of it if the price is well within reason. Right now I have many duplicates that have been purchased. I just like looking at as many mercs as the pocket book will afford. The 27S and 26S are the coins that are the ones needed now. Both are tough in nice AU.
