I agree, fake. Love the seller's eBay handle though: walmart_babe image

I assume any expensive key date coin that's being sold raw on eBay is either fake or has problems until proven otherwise.

Fake. Mintmark is all wrong... date is goofy too. Nice copy, though. The chinese are getting really good!

Definitely fake... one day, they'll get the mint mark right, and that will be scary...

I am with him on this one, unless the seller is named walmart_babe then I trust completely.

The raised lumps in front of Ms. Liberty's lips are something I would not like to see on my 1889-CC dollar.

And yea, I'm going to rush out and pay over a grand to seller who calls herself "Walmart Babe." image

Very appropriate ID... Wally World does specialize in bulk-quantity Chinese-made stuff after all...this piece fits in nicely with that business model. image

  • Fake. The date is off as well as the mint mark CC curves. If you check the reverse and see how it's uber raised then that should be a dead give away, also the rim is slightly larger than the norm. I would love to buy it for $5.00 to see what it looks like in hand, but the seller needs to pay the shipping cost....

Anyone going to try to talk to her, or report it?

Yep, have contacted the Walmart Babe twice now over several days and she's
either too busy to respond or out of town......take your pic? image

centrifugal cast copy or a real, dug-up CC

I still don't like the odds of 50/50

    Pass...especially after seeing the price!

In the end, she will probably find a chump out there.
