Well I am off to the florida keys next week. I am looking to pick up a nice metal detector that would be great to use on the beach, something that is water proof maybe? Looking for a user friendly detector that the wife and I could use. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

If you plan on doing any amount of beach hunting, make sure you get a "waterproof" machine and not a "water-resistant" machine.

Ocean and beach conditions being what they are, it would really suck if a rogue wave ruined your machine! Plus, the paranoia of getting wet goes away as well...
