Too much of a premium over melt. Check out his 1 Kilo gold bar.

Such an odd weight. I don't get it. Two 1-oz bars just makes so much more sense.

That kilo is awesome, though. Anyone have an image of a kilo in hand? Capn'? I've got pretty large hands. I bet they're much smaller in person.

That's the first one I've seen not stamped London. I'm not seeing a Engelhard kilo?

We sold the Englehard Kilo out of the collection we are brokering. Still have the two 10 ounce poured bars. I will see if I can get David to post pictures of them.

I have owned 2 of those Engelhard 2oz bars in my time. The 1st one sold for 1.7x melt, and the 2nd sold for 1.5x melt about 6 months later. Gold was just $800/oz back then though.

Yup. That first one looks all beat up. I wonder if it still weights 10 ozs or if it lost a little weight from the abuse.

Ya know, I once bought in the ugliest Canadian gold maple leaf that I ever saw, and just out of curiosity weighed it. 31.10 grams. It had not lost any weight at all.

The dings just rearrange the metal. They do not remove it.

6% over melt on a scarce bar like that is a wonderful opportunity for anyone in the market for a 10oz gold bar!
