    Is this a die variety attribution? I wasn't aware that any British coins were collected by die variety.

    Freeman is the iconic book for bronze 1860-1970. There are multiple die combinations of just the 1860 and 1861 dates alone for both pennies and halfpennies.

    Davies is the book for silver coinage. There are several die combinations in many of the series.
