1926-D Buffalo nickel , newp! Grade revealed....Lets see some 1926-d buffs!!

crazyhounddogcrazyhounddog Posts: 14,071 ✭✭✭✭✭
The 1926 d Buffalo nickel is the worst strike in the series. I finally found one I can live with and let me tell ya, it's been a long hunt. It's also a tough little bugger to grade, what do ya think the grade is on this one? It's housed in an old ANACS holder. Thanks for looking....Joe

Wow, I have no idea on the grade, but you weren't kidding about the strike issues!

i'd say 64 ignoring the mushiness image

Hmmm... The obverse color is odd.

Should be a 63, but ANACS may have given it a 64.

MS63 despite the reverse strike. Nice luster. And nice obverse.

This is a very tough coin in AU and higher.....Like chd said, it took me a long time to find one also. Then at FUN a few years back, I broke down and bought a raw XF45 with a decent strike for my set, and a half hour later found an AU53 in an OGH for just a little more $!

THIS is a tough coin to find with a decent strike - but you should of held out - there are much better 63's and 64's out there. 63 AT BEST!image

Thanks all, for the nice words. My 26-D is a bit strange in that the toning for the obverse and reverse are certainly not matching, but for this coin it seems to work.

ad4400, that is a great strike particularly on the obverse. Very little rub.
