Will a Proof Like Morgan lose its Proof Like over time?

I have a PL Morgan in an ANACS slab. Will it lose it's PL over time if I cracked it out? I plan on sending it to NGC at an upcoming show. Can a Morgan lose its PL qualities with exposure to air?

It shouldn't if stored in a reasonable environment.

No as they are PL due to freshly polished dies.

This isn't something that will fade in time.

However if these coins tone it may be blanket the depth of the PL'ness a bit.

Certain slabs have caused proofs to get hazy over time. I think the old (small) ANACS holders might have been in that group.

They may get hazy but will still be PL underneath.

Over dipping can cause a proofs surfaces to become impaired (lack mirrors).

Uhhhhh, I don't really think so.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

It was still PL when it went to ANACs. If it didn't lose it in the first hundred years, probably won't lose it in your lifetime.

Sure can. If a coin has hazed or toned and you dip it, you're stripping the protective "skin" off the coin and making the surface less stable. If you do it too often over time (hence "over dipping"), you'll start to leave "scars" where the toning was repeatedly dipped off.

very right on the proofs being destroyed if over dipped. I bought one time a proof seated dollar that turned out when I got it to be dipped to death. I couldnt stand it and returned it
may the fonz be with you...always...

If it could, don't you think it would have long before it arrived in that ANACS plastic?
