There went 10 minutes of my life I can never get back.
What a moronic thread. It read like something I'd expect to hear on the playground at one of my kid's schools after lunch. One kid trying to be a bully with another in the background yelling YEAH YEAH.
<< <i> And MOC... seems to me there was a colorful history with you. D >>
Am I the only one that picked up on this? >>
Not hardly. But, if I recall that thread correctly, first they loved the coins, then they hated the very same coins. And, don't hold me to this, but I seem also to recall some of the coins originally had even passed the scrutiny of the major TPGs, they were in the slabs, and judged "market acceptable." So, go figure...
EDIT: I was just corrected off-list that the toning was hastened while the coins were in the slabs, so, never mind on that one...
All these coins are in our hands for a limited time, on loan so to speak. So all will be for sale sometime, whether today 24hrs from now or in many years from now. A few of you should stop getting your panties in a bunch over this.
After just now reading through this entire thread, My opinion is that Shane you are not competing for the same collector dollars as Bryans collection is. No disrespect meant but not even close to the same IMO.

Well we will agree to disagree becuase the same people spending big money on some of the GSAs on Ebay are the same pople bidding on my coins on Ebay....you couldn't know that but that's why I am sharing. I certainly never acussed larry of spamming becuase I personally like seeing what Bryan had sold and those coins were not on Ebay where I sell.
The simple truth in all of this...which hasn't changed since I joined the forum....some people can get away with stuff that others can't. I assure you if I start posts to highlight coins I just picked up and then start dumping these coins on Ebay within 24 years...there would be an outcry. Not from all but from some and rightfully so.
Probably 90 to 95% of the people stating they don't mind people showing off coins for sale on the boards are not selling coins on an everyday basis...they don't have a dog in this fight...an opinion...yes.

Oh please... want a little camembert to go with that merlot? I've been a b/m dealer since '83 and an ebayer for 11 years and counting so I most assuredly DO have a dog in the fight...and I don't mind people showing off nice coins here in the slightest, be they for sale or not. Anyone so petrified that a few posts or threads here (which their customers may or may not even SEE, much less let influence their purchasing decisions) are going to damage their business, certainly doesn't have much confidence in their business acumen.

I said I was done here, but I just can't let this stuff go on any longer. Krypto, for those who don't know what crime I committed, would you please answer the following questions about the 85-CC I posted that has caused all this uproar? BTW, that perfectly good thread with pics of other's cool coins appears to have been zapped because of all the whining.
1) Did I state the coin was mine? yes/no 2) Did I state the coin was for sale? yes/no 3) Did I state if the coin would ever be for sale, or when it would ever be for sale? yes/no 4) Did I post a link to an auction? yes/no 5)Which forum detective later found the coin for sale on another site, posted a linky, and then posted a "gotcha" in more than one thread that the coin was sale?
Every coin posted on these boards is likely to be for sale some day unless you guys plan to take them to your graves so any coin posted qualifies as soft spam by that definition. The only factor yet to be finalized is the time limit applicable from posting the coin to the sale before the whining starts.
I'm sorry some of my coins on ebay are competing with your ebay sales though, fear not, since I'm probably down to my last 500 GSA's, you don't have much longer to wait.
Now, if after anwswering the above questions you leave me and my name out of the posts from here forward, I'll promise I'll leave the CU forum alone. Deal?
Bryan, Please don't allow the few that loudly cry foul, to drown out the polite murmur of the majority. It's the slow leaking of quality members, like yourself, that is making this place so bloodless, so lifeless, so pointless to visit...
Brian, after such a long time of not actively posting anything here(2-4 years, the approximate time frame of the OF being purged) why had you suddenly begun to post regularly with the prime focus being coins you had either just recently sold/are currently selling /intend to sell???
since it is not possible (I don't think) to edit pm's - is it possible to give you access to some of the inappropriate pm's we have received?

The coin was linked to illustate soft spamming...and soft spam does not include links or buy me here signs etc or it would be considered hard spamming I did not say you were guilty of a crime...simply pointed out alterior motives as to the sudden appearance of you and your coins on the forum.....I don't think there is any crime in that what so ever and if I had a collection half as good I would want to show them off as well. Let's not be coy about motives though.......your too smart for that. I hope you stick around and enjoy posting even if you feel like you have been slighted by me or a few other posters

Sinin, do what I did...I got tired of a certain person's PMs since they got very unclassy quickly and just blocked that little person with the tiny man's syndrome. No more PMs from him
I'm in the camp of appreciating Bryan showing the coins. For years, we have heard about these, but many of us never had the opportunity to see them in person, and the bald knucklehead never did get a camera and learn how to use it for us
Having chatted with Bryan, and also "listening" to his posts, I think I have an idea of why he didn't post for awhile and just came back, but that is for him to say, if he wants. All I will say is that being out of country can stifle things for awhile...particularly if your collection is not with you nor can you actively collect where you are. I see no need to attack him for not posting then coming back and posting even if it coincides to his selling his collection.
Too many of the whining threads lately are just about bullying others. There is no "policing" that needs to happen. There are no true reasons for the threads except to attack others and try to stir things up. Unlike the OPs of many of the whining threads, Bryan's threads/posts were fun, educational, and WERE ABOUT COINS!
I was at the central states show most of this week and look at all the fun I missed. I thought I was the only trouble maker here From what I have gained by briefly reading this thread is simply that a few people disagree with a few other people and some other people disagree with the few people but some other people have a nice little cult following here so the few people were attacked for having a different opinion then the other people and some past issues were brought up regarding some people and some current issues were brought up regarding some other people and that made some other people remember their issues with the other people-- wow what a run on sentence This place is great
I have decided to leave this forum for my own reasons, some of you will like me gone and others not so much but hopefully some of you can continue to use this forum for something although I am not sure what anymore.
SININ you have my permission to show all 2 PM's I have sent you. PLEASE do. I simply said that you would not have the tesosterone to say things to my face that you say on the boards. I also asked why you keep attacking me when I have done nothing to you. Of course you did not answer either one.

Please be specific. Please supply links to 3 threads where I have made snide comments directed towards you - since you feel I have been constantly doing so, it should be rather easy.
I have learned alot from this and other boards. Over the last few years, I have accumulated knowledge about the coin industry - some good, some bad, some scary. Other collectors and dealers helping people learn and get different opinions from 'mentors' as they themselves have done in the past. I am sure that is what PCGS had in mind when they started these boards. It is possible/probable that I have posted some things in the past that I no longer agree with or was mistaken about, but usually let my comments stand, as that was my opinion at the time. Once you supply the 3 links, (and possibly explain to me why what I said was an attack on you), I will apologize and promise to try not to ever do it again.
Right now, I recognize you as one of the great Washington quarter collectors of all time,
and recently have come to realize you also are a whiny bully who likes to make threats, that I occasionally see before you make your edit deletions in threads
Since you have such interesting unsolicited pms to me, surely there are other gems out there - will you give freedom for everyone to post their amusing/threatening pm's from you?
