Howdy and a Photography question

Howdy,

Just got back into collecting after 20ish years. One thing that got me re-interested was getting a 1906 Indian Head cent in change.

Also, anyone have any info or links about photographing coins?

Welcome back to the hobby. You've found the right place. In addition to being an active discussion board about coins loaded with people with all levels of experience and funds in the hobby, this is the de facto official discussion board on the internet on coin photography. The "search" button will be your friend in this case. If you have an inexpensive camera with a macro button, an inexpensive tripod or copy stand, and a couple matching desk lamps, you're well on your way to producing good coin pictures. Feel free to post them here as you experiment and learn and you will get comments.
  • Thanks, been reading a lot of the posts while waiting on approval. No camera atm, just moved from Oregon to Oklahoma and it didn't lol. and so far, no coins worth photoing but will be practicing.

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Welcome. You will find many threads here about coin photography.
Don't rush out and buy alot of expensive equipment.
Go slowly and you'll be surprised at the pics you can take with minimal equipment.
