Grading and selling help and questions

Hello. I have some coins that I collected in the 1960s and 1970s which have been sitting in my safety deposit box for 30 years. I have not collected since then and now am interested in selling them to get some funds for my new collecting interests. Most of my other, less valuable coins I have sold on Ebay. I am wondering what would be the best way to handle this- should I get them graded or sell them raw? Are these scans good enough to see the details if I sell them raw? I am not familiar with the grading options for coins and would like some advice on that, too. There are no large coin dealers or shows nearby so I am coming to all of you for advice. I really appreciate any and all help. Dave

Ok, first off those scans suck. Scanners are for paper, period. You need to get or borrow (with software) a digital camera with
a flower button for close up shots. Then you might be able to fairly accurately represent the coins.
If you know what you want for them then just post a good pic of the front and back on our BST (buy, sell, and trade forum) board.
No fees and easy to do.
There is always the ebay auction route and that generally, will give you retail values. But, then there are the fees.
Borrow the camera and keep posting!

You can submit thru a pcgs authorized dealer or join the collectors club online and send them in yourself.
Are you friendly with a dealer? Or is there a shop nearby you could show these to? If not, is there a coin show coming around in your area?
If none of these options are possible then I would suggest you get them graded by a respected service. Generally, PCGS-graded coins achieve the best price.

but it is unlikely that your Morgan is an 67
or 66
there are some very funny colors on the rev
of your indian head cents
I am confused that you bought the Morgan as MS67 thirty years or more years ago. Virtually no one was using that grade in 1980, certainly not in the 1960s or 1970s. The grading services didn't really start handing out higher grades in quantity until later on. Certainly not on coins that looked like the one in the scan. Anyway, if I were to vote based on the scan, I think MS65 is the best that coin would grade because of the distracting hit below the chin on the obverse, and it might do worse.
Oh by the way, WELCOME TO THE BOARDS
