I bid on a Sellers item and I canceled my bid. He reported me to ebay as a price manipulator. Funny thing is that is was only 1 bid that I canceled - after I bought 5 things earlier that day...

How about giving it a few days and seeing if cooler heads prevail.

Yes, sir.
I am the buyer. After a series a hostile messages, I woke up this morning to a message from ebay explaining the bid manipulation policy.
The seller explained that I am a disgrace to ebay and a liability to him for canceling a bid, as "when I cancel a bid, it instills suspicious on the product and the price realized is lower."
"You need to be dealt with," the buyer messaged me earlier this week.

"Funny thing is that is was only 1 bid that I canceled - after I bought 5 things earlier that day..."
Three or four days later, the seller (who has thousands of deals on eBay) sent my money back and cancelled the purchase. No 'splanation, or nuttin'.
P.S.
Ann, I hope you still like me if you read the boards.

NewParadigm bid on potential 6th coin and cancelled bid, seller got angry, sent a message to NewParadigm, reported NewParadigm to Ebay for price manipulation (I guess reverse price manipulation, for casting doubt on the legitimacy of 6th coin thus affecting it's perceived value to future buyers).
Sound correct?
My question would be what type of ramifications are there for being reported to Ebay for price manipulation? Will it affect your credibility to buy/sell down the road?
And now you plan on leaving negative feedback on either one or all 5 of the coins you purchased previously that morning?
Bearing in mind that you receive all five coins previously purchased and all 5 are in a the condition as advertised, are delivered as advertised and the transaction on those five goes through smoothly, I do not agree with leaving negative feedback on one or all five of the coins you purchased from this seller. The feedback for each of those purchases is unique to each of those transactions and I've never felt that anyone should use good transactions to bring up grievances about bad experiences with a seller. As long as being reported to Ebay for price manipulation doesn't impede your ability or reputation to buy and sell in the future, this seems like an issue that you should either let die or take up your case with Ebay. Otherwise you get into a he said/she said feedback spat that reflects poorly on both buyer and seller.
Just my 2 cents.

I'm following what you're saying, but, IMO based on his messages and the content in them, this seller "needs to be dealt with" and all five negatives sounds about right.
We are guessing that among the 5 things you bought earlier at least one was from this seller and that is how you plan your revenge. Yes?
Is there more to this story than we've heard? Cancellations happen sometimes. I've never heard of one causing such a violent reaction by a seller.
Lance.
<< <i>You need to out the seller if it's coin related as I wouldn't want to deal with anyone who gets his panties in a bunch so easily!
The excuse that he was the only bidder is not valid , someone may of bid the same or less and then passed when they seen the OP's bid.
Why not simply do the right thing and let it drop, the OP caused the issue and the seller has a valid point. Maybe the seller over reacted but the OP is using the negative in the wrong way. This is an example where a seller should have some better help from ebay anyone who cancels a bid and then says he is going to leave a negative on other non related items is not fair or reasonable in my opinion.
Did the OP post his user name so I can block him no one needs this non sense.

I know, and what NewParadigm says,
<< <i>It just seems so extreme for a canceled bid >>
, is very true. While this guys may or may not have a point about the effect of a cancelled bid on the future value of a coin (because really, no one knows if any potential buyers would be turned away by a cancelled bid thus possibly lowering the future value), his actions were extreme (to extreme imo), and he is someone I would rather not do business with ( so I'm with Broadstruck on this). I'm just not a big fan of using positive transactions as tools to post negative feedback about a seller for a non-transaction. It never turns out as well as you hope it would, and if I remember correctly there is a feedback post, a response to the feedback and a reponse to the response and that is it, so really, the whole story never gets out there and it never really reflects well on either party.
To effectively post your criticism about this guy you actually have gone about in the correct way. You have told your "friends" about the incident and what transpired and the sellers reputation is spread via word of mouth, thus removing potential buyers from his pool of customers.
The one assumption here though, and this hasn't really been addressed by NewParadigm, is whether or not being reported to Ebay for price manipulation has an adverse affect on his Ebay reputation, or his ability to buy and sell in the future. If it does have a negative impact then it changes everything.
Thats just my now 4 cents worth.
<< <i>The OP is wrong 100% he canceled a bid and the seller got upset and it can scare off other legitimate bidders. >>
Absolutely. The seller could have handled it better, but the OP is the screwup in this scenario. He's also a lowlife if the five auctions he did win are as advertised and he receives the items quickly, yet still negs the seller.
Give us your eBay ID. I'm sure there are plenty of sellers who would like to add you to their BBL's.

<< <i>You need to out the seller if it's coin related as I wouldn't want to deal with anyone who gets his panties in a bunch so easily!
I would add the buyer (OP) to the group getting their panties in a bunch so easily.
This seems nothing more than someone trying to be vengeful. I seriously doubt this ONE instance would negatively affect a buyer; unless it was additive to other issues.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

That guys face in the background is awesome. You can tell he is really enjoying himself.
I try to manipulate the price every time I place a bid. Isn't that the objective?

It is also against ebay policy to retract a bid for any reason other than an error in your bid price or if the seller changed the items description. 39 times in 6 months? I think the problem is with you.

why didn`t you just send him a polite message asking him to cancel your bid? explain why you retract so many bids?
My feedback is over 800 and never once did I retract a bid.

If it's OK for a seller to end an auction 12 before an auction ends, why can't a bidder retract his bid if there are no other bids/bidders/interests in the coin? They're both testing the market by whatever means they have. Why not throw a bid out there to let others know you're interested. If there are no other bids after a couple of days, I say, yank the bid! There's no sense in buying OR selling if the market is not ready.
