New market for "reverse doctors" to make coins temporarily look worse...
With all this talk of "wow, how neat and rare would a coin with both a PLUS and a GOLD BEAN be"
it occurs to me that if there were a way to make, say, a low end MS66 look like a 64+ for the submission, and then have it "turn better" in some way (a haze that fades, delayed AT that gradually mellows the surfaces, or some such) and then later submit it to CAC (who, it says in another thread, disregards the plus and just compares the coin against 64 standards) it might get the gold bean as a lock 65 in a 64 holder.
would this work? of course, the trick to make the coin temorarily worse would be the hardest part, but one could also substitute "tighter grading period" or use set-up coins to steer your target coin to the lower grade.
Would a plus and a gold bean on the same holder be worth a novelty premium that exceeds the downgrade from plain ole "MS66" to "64+ CAC Gold?

<< <i>Sounds like a complicated, time-consuming, expensive way to make $290 into $75. I am willing to do you a favor. Just send me $290, and I will send you back $75 and spare you all of the trips to Home Depot, the post office, etc.
A welcome Saturday afternoon laugh!

<< <i>Wouldn't an average, or even low end MS66 still be worth way more than an MS64 with a plus, star, a green bean, a gold bean, rainbow bean, you name it? If I remember in school, an A or A- was still better than a C+++. >>
You are being logical which makes your post off-topic for this thread.
